ADMS trains Miami International Airport's ARFF drivers

Using ADMS HRET (High Reach Extendable Turret) simulator, ETC staff have trained 10 ARFF (Airport Rescue Fire Fighting) drivers on the vehicle operation of an ARFF truck including HRET at Miami International Airport's (MIA) fire department.
ADMS HRET was initially designed for Rosenbauer to enable their new HRET customers to train via simulation prior to taking control of a very expensive piece of equipment.
Training with the ADMS simulator allows drivers to become familiar with the vehicle's operations and controls thus allowing a positive transfer of training once they sit down on the actual vehicle.
This simulator training also reduces operator error and unnecessary maintenance issues and is environmentally safe. Sam Schwartzmann, ARFF Driver Operator for MIA remarked, "Although skeptical at first, after driving the simulator, I believe it is a worthwhile and valuable training tool. ADMS HRET can allow driver/operators to train and become familiar with many of the functions of all the features of modern ARFF vehicles."
