Chambrelan opens UK office

Published:  22 March, 2010

After having supplied heavy duty slides to the UK for the last twenty years, Chambrelan, the French based sliding systems' manufacturer, announced earlier  that it will be launching a UK operation that aims to deliver its popular range of heavy duty slides currently being used throughout the Fire, Defense and Blue Light Industries.

Jeremy Binnington, Head of Chambrelan UK, confirms:  "The time was right to make a change to the way in which we delivered our products to the market and developing a more direct and effective route that we believe better suits our customer base including vehicle builders.  Chambrelan UK offers the same well recognised models of heavy-duty slides, such as the RA5R and RA7R that have traditionally been used throughout industry; the difference being we are now able to work much closer with project managers and engineers.  In addition, because customers will be dealing direct with the manufacturer, we can remove any delays in supply."

Indeed, supply is one of the biggest concerns shared by vehicle builders since the downturn.  Whereas previously slides were stocked on site in large quantities nowadays customer stock decisions have been severely effected and product is only being ordered when it's needed.

"Dealing directly with the manufacturer means, in effect, we hold the stock and therefore are far better placed to respond immediately rather than going through a middle man, which saves both time and money and,” confirms Jeremy.

Because Chambrelan is an end-to-end manufacturer Chambrelan can guarantees the design spec in terms of quality assurance.  “Another aspect which sets Chambrelan,” adds Jeremy, “apart from its competitors can been seen in terms of how we express our load ratings that are defined not by a point at which it become difficult or dangerous to operate the slides, but by a point at which the slides under load reach a specified deflection. This can be expressed as a percentage deflection of the closed length when at full extension”. This helps Chambrelan guide customers as in some more complex applications it is not just a question of supporting a static load you also need to have an indication of how hard the slides are working to carry that load.

Having the right product and the right application advice comes as standard with Chambrelan, but without the cost. Chambrelan’s non-stock items and customized slides can be produced at very competitive prices and in small quantities, meaning more flexibility and a closer working relationship with engineers and vehicle builders.
