OBITUARY: Jens Peter Larsen

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jens Peter Larsen. Mr. Larsen had been a member of the airport rescue and firefighting service since 1977 – of which he spent the first 23 years in the Danish Air Force.
Mr. Larsen served in the fire and rescue service at Copenhagen International Airport, the largest airport in Scandinavia, first as an Incident Commander. in 2002 he was promoted to Fire Chief where he remained until 2009.
He was a very enthusiastic member of the ARFFWG, IAFPA and G7 Group for Chief Fire Officers, and was also Chairman of the Fire Chiefs Association of Denmark, Greenland and the Faeroe Islands.
He was a popular speaker at several international conferences – and in the last two years, he has been a guest lecturer at the senior fire officer’s course at Singapore Aviation Academy. Mr. Larsen is survived by his wife and two children.
