Crowcon appoints Peter Wilbourne as product manager for HVAC and gas leak location markets

Crowcon Detection Instruments has appointed Peter Wilbourne its new Product Manager for the HVAC and gas leak location markets.

Peter has extensive experience in business development and marketing in the instrumentation, process and control industries worldwide. A trained electronics, electrical and control design engineer, he is also a member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing.

Prior to joining Crowcon Peter was Marketing and Business Development Interim Manager at InMark Consultants, a specialised consultancy for companies looking to develop new markets and business within the industrial process sector. Before that he worked as the Business Development Manager at Cobham (Flight Refuelling).

"Peter is a valuable addition to our team, bringing a wealth of international marketing and business development experience to Crowcon," commented Managing Director Warren Rees. "I’m sure he will play an important part in our ongoing process of growth and development."

New range of lifting bags from Vetter
Vetter has released what it calls ‘next-generation high-pressure lifting bags’ – the S.Tec range. The new range allows emergency responders to raise the pressure from 8 to 10 bar to enable a 25% increase in lifting power compared with conventional 8-bar lifting bags. The simple formula force = area x pressure, combined with controlled pressure distribution inside the bag, makes it possible to lift heavier loads with the same bag size.
Facing new extrication challenges – new vehicle technology (NVT)
New vehicle technology (NVT) can seem intimidating, since not all rescuers can afford the latest tools with extra cutting performance. Aaron Heller, Fire Captain of the Hamilton Township Fire District #9 and co-owner of On Scene Training Associates, emphasizes that NVT is in no way insurmountable with a basic set of rescue equipment, and the right extrication procedures and strategies.
