GSF takes Slam lock to market
Published: 26 November, 2009
GSF, one of the largest suppliers of sliding systems in the UK, has announced its latest development: the Draw-front, Push-button Slam-lock (DPS). As part of its drive to constantly evolve and develop its ranges in line with the requirements of the Fire, Defence, Police and Ambulance industries, the DPS is the most recent addition to the GSF Vehicle Component Range.
“Most push button slam locks sold in this country come as kits, which the vehicle builders and the brigade workshops have to trim and assemble themselves,” commented Tony Macis, GSF UK Sales Director. “We manufacture ours on site to compliment our Slide and Tilt Systems, but we also sell them individually, pre trimmed and assembled, to suit our customers requirements.”
The lock itself is a double handled push button mechanism, designed to not only be used by a gloved hand, but opens instantaneously when needed. Fitted to the centre of the draw the GSF DPS mechanism locks draws fast and positively and because the lock bolts are made from stainless steel they will not corrode.
“The uptake has been really positive and our products are by far and away more cost effective than our competitors’ products,” confirmed Tony. “But quite a part from the cost aspect, customers can now have their draws and locks supplied by the same company, making the procurement of draw front slam lock mechanisms and Slide and Tilt Systems, more efficient all round.”
