Check out Qasar for BA training

Published:  01 September, 2008

Who said firefighting training is tough? Shropshire firefighters are doing their BA and guideline exercises at a Qasar centre.

The popular Qasar centre – part of AMF Bowling in Shrewsbury – has been deemed ideal due to the blacked out interior, three levels, and synthetic smoke. “If other brigades nationally have not already done so, many could consider approaching other Qasar centres and receive the same benefits we have,” commented Sub Officer Temple from Telford fire station.

Around 40 RDS recruits will be trained each year at the centre.

Brothers Brandon (8) and Ethan Wood (6) are all fired up to use the fun quasar centre with Shropshire firefighter Russell Goodwin.
