Hughes Safety Showers recently launched a versatile decontamination unit in the Middle East. The Hughes MD4 is a standard decontamination unit with the British fire service for use at chemical spillages and major incidents.
The introduction of the new decontamination unit coincides with the opening of a sales and customer support office in the Sharjah International Free Zone in the UAE. Hughes Middle East will be working closely with Flowtronics, the company’s partner in the UAE and with other distributors in the Gulf States. Hughes’ emergency safety showers are already widely used in the region, particularly by customers in the oil and petrochemical industries.
Products range from industrial safety showers and eye/facewash fountains to rapid response shelters for decontaminating emergency services personnel and their equipment. Larger, portable mass decontamination units are also available for treating the public at major incidents, and there is a choice of models to suite the required throughput.
All models are compact, easily transported and quick to deploy. Continuous research and development ensures that Hughes products offer the most effective method of decontamination for any hazard and are equipped to deal with emerging threats.
“Customer service is critical when you’re supplying potentially life-saving equipment,” says Shaik Sayeed, Sales Manager for Hughes Middle East. “Our business in the region is growing and we believe a permanent local presence will enable us to provide the quality of care and support our customers have come to expect.”
