Statoil selects fire detection supplier

Published:  10 September, 2015

Winner of four-year framework will supply fixed fire and gas detection systems for north European oil fields.

The Autro Safe detection systems will be installed in the Johan Serdrup oil field in the North Sea as part of a framework agreement that has been described by Autronica Fire and Security as one of the most significant in the brand’s history.

The Norwegian company, which is part of the UTC group, will also supply the systems to the nearby Johan Castberg, Peregrino and Snorre fields. The agreement also includes options for two-plus-two years.

Installation of the detection systems, which will be developed and manufactured by Autronica in Trondheim, will begin in early 2016.

Frode Lund, Managing Director of Autronica commented: “We are thrilled to play an important role in protecting Statoil’s operations in one of the North Sea’s largest oil fields. This high-profile win confirms Autronica’s position as a long-term and reliable partner in the oil and gas segment around the world.”
