A+A 2015 partners with South Korea

Published:  20 June, 2014

A+A 2015 in Düsseldorf, the event for international event in personal protection and occupational health, safety and security (trade fair & congress, 27-30 October 2015 has appointed the Republic of Korea (South Korea) as its official partner for the 2015 event. An agreement to this effect has been concluded between Messe Düsseldorf and KOSHA (Korea Occupational Safety & Health Agency).

‘With 24 million people in employment, highly developed industrial routines and a desire for top-of-the-range competitiveness and productivity in all business sectors, Korea is clearly an attractive market for suppliers of personal protection products and for solutions to ensure a safe and healthy workplace,’ said Joachim Schäfer, Managing Director at Messe Düsseldorf.

Birgit Horn, Director of A+A 2015, added: ‘Not only does South Korea pursue a highly ambitious sociopolitical agenda in seeking to implement safe and productive workplaces within its own borders. It also sees itself as a pioneer in preventative health and safety precautions and is committed to numerous projects supported by the International Labour Organisation (ILO) in other countries within the region, such as in Myanmar.’

The partnership activities, which A+A started with Russia in 2009 and then continued with Poland in 2011 and Turkey in 2013, led to contacts and business relations that helped to strengthen A+A’s position as one of the world’s leading trade fairs and congress on occupational health and safety. In 2013, A+A was attended by over 63,000 trade visitors, of whom every fourth person was an international visitor.

As well as featuring a high-ranking political delegation from the Republic of Korea and a pavilion with Korean exhibitors, A+A 2015 will have a dialogue forum on the training of security staff and on improving communication between supervisory authorities and advisory institutions, on the one hand, and commercial enterprises, on the other. Moreover, an information event will be held where suppliers of personal protection equipment will be given information about regulations and certification issues that affect any imports of their products.

A+A is held in Düsseldorf at two-year intervals. A+A 2013 was attended by over 1,600 exhibitors from 55 nations – more than ever before in the history of this event. They represented the entire range of products and services in personal protection, occupational health and safety and in the realisation of trouble-free operational routines.
