Published: 21 February, 2013
The UK Health and Safety Laboratory (HSL) is to run a one-day course on Seveso III on 19th March 2013.
The new Seveso III directive has been agreed and work is beginning towards its implementation in revised COMAH regulations which will come into force in June 2015.
Key changes will be a change in scope (particularly for toxic substances), and greater requirements for providing public information.
The changes in scope will also affect the need for hazardous substances consent. The seminar will highlight the main issues in a series of presentations and will provide opportunity for informal feedback to the regulators concerned with drafting the revision to COMAH.
Seminar includes:
- Overview of the main changes
- The negotiation of Seveso III and the process of revising COMAH
- Issues with scope: how to determine if your site will be affected
- Public information
- Summary Safety Reports
- Hazardous substance consents
- The main issues for revising COMAH and opportunity to provide informal feedback
Who should attend?
Anyone who needs to understand how the changes to COMAH may affect them, including safety and environmental managers and directors, operations managers, safety and environmental specialists, consultants who assist companies with the implementation of COMAH.
