Fire & Rescue 2007 will be co-located with the fire prevention and protection event, International Fire Expo which runs alongside Safety & Health Expo, The Facilities Show and the world’s leading annual security event, IFSEC.
Fire and Rescue together with International Fire Expo will represent the largest gathering of the fire profession ever seen in the UK and will open up a raft of new networking opportunities for the traditional firefighting audience giving them access to health & safety professionals, facilities managers, security professionals as well as all those people involved in fire prevention and protection, says its organisers.
The Conference element
The conference programme for Fire & Rescue 2007 boasts an impressive speaker line-up, and includes such well-known names as Lord Stevens, former Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police and Lord Bruce-Lockhart, Chairman of the LGA.
A spokesman told F&R: “The show conference will also have a distinctively international feel about it, with contributions from the US Department for Homeland Security, Phil Stittleburg, Chairman of the National Volunteer Fire Council (NVFC) and Keith Richter President of the Metropolitan Fire Chiefs Association.”
Around 500 delegates from senior officers, management and technical staff from UK and overseas, public and industrial brigades as well as high calibre representatives from key organisations such as CFOA, IFE and FPA.
The main plenary sessions will be supported by FCEL’s usual programme of highly topical and practical workshops. Amongst others, the agenda for this year will feature subjects like Flood Management, The LGA’s ‘Ten Year Vision’, Procurement and Fleet Management. In addition there are plans to look at a variety of wider industry topics such as the Centre of Excellence, Licensing of Risk Assessors and Fire Safety Order Enforcement.
New technology featured at the show includes:
• Phoenix Series units designed for emergency vehicles by Federal Signal Vama, the European unit of Federal Signal Corporation. These come with multiple acoustic and lighting options: Sputnik LED modules (fixed, flashing or extension), front, rear or side halogen lights, SignalMaster Sputnik or halogen, 100W loudspeaker, SCS1000 with new housing for 30W loudspeaker, 23-pin roof connector, etc.
