Expert panel announced for the two-day hearing on safety performance indicators.

The US Chemical Safety Board (CSB) has announced the panel participants for its two-day hearing on effective safety performance indicators, where the agency plans to release preliminary findings from its investigation of the Macondo well blowout, explosion and fire in the Gulf of Mexico.

The meeting will be held on Monday, July 23, 2012, and Tuesday, July 24, 2012, in Houston, Texas, from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. at the Hyatt Regency Hotel located at 1200 Louisiana Street in the Imperial West Auditorium. The meeting will bring together international regulators, union representatives, and industry groups to discuss the use of safety performance indicators in the wake of the Deepwater Horizon accident.

The public hearing is free and open to the pubic, and registration is not required, but visitors are encouraged to register their interest to ensure adequate seating by emailing: register@csb.gov.
