Tyco Model EC-25 sprinkler receives further FM Global approvals

Enhanced FM approvals provides advanced, cost-effective solutions in higher density, extended coverage applications.

According to Tyco the EC-25 sprinkler provides lower installed cost and better fire protection when compared to standard coverage sprinkler systems due to:

• Fewer branch lines and fewer sprinklers as a result of the extended coverage area

• Lower operating pressures in accordance with the S x L Spacing Rules defined by NFPA 13, Section 8.5.2

• Lowest hydraulic system demand provided in FM Global Property Loss Prevention Data Sheet 8-9 July 2011 Revision and Engineering Bulletin 06-11

• Fewer opened sprinklers and fewer consumed pallets than standard coverage sprinklers as shown in full-scale fire tests

I’m not exactly sure why that quote came to mind as I began to endure the bombardment of American media related to the events of April 15, but it did. And I kept coming back to it as I saw the press cover the event and stumble through ‘up to the minute’ updates and ‘this just in’ alerts. The more that I held that quote up, against this backdrop of human suffering the more that the meaning began to materialize and the words, which at first glance seem bitter and cynical, started to transform into something that I’ve observed my entire career.
