During a festive ceremony the Israeli Fire Brigade officially incorporated 26 new Ziegler water/foam tenders Type TLF 20/30-3 into its fleet.
German fire fighting vehicle manufacturer Ziegler has supplied a total of 26 new fire trucks (TLF 20/30-3) to the Israeli fire service over the last couple of months, via its local bodybuilding partner BAT Technologies. The official commissioning of the vehicles took place in Rishon LeZion near Tel Aviv at the end of 2011.
The Israeli Minister for Internal Security, Mr. Yitzhak Aharonovich and High Commissioner Shahar Ayalon, emphasised the quality of the Ziegler vehicles in particular. “The best vehicles ever supplied to Israel, The cooperation with the company Ziegler has not only been highly reliably but also very pleasant,” said Mr. Aharonovich. The Ziegler TLF 20/30-3 are the first water/foam tenders in the State of Israel which have been manufactured in accordance with a complete wear-resistant Ziegler ALPAS aluminium design.
Another special feature is that at the water bearing parts of the centrifugal fire pump “FPN 10-2000-2 HH” bronze has been preferred to the commonly used aluminium alloy since this material is ideal for salt water which is frequently used for extinguishing in Israel. The water/foam tenders type TLF 20/30-3 are nearly 8m long and 2.5m wide and are based on a MAN chassis type TGM 13.290.
The crew cab also consists of a MAN double cab with four doors. The TLF’s 20/30-3 are provided with a 6 cylinder diesel engine with an output of 213kW (290 HP) and comply with the current Euro 5 exhaust emissions standard. The vehicle features a water tank with a capacity of 3,000 litres. Furthermore the vehicles are provided with a foam tank of 300 litres and a foam proportioning system.
