Testing aggressively

Low or fluorine-free content foam can still achieve good results. Chemguard sent us some data from tests carried out on its low fluorine, Ultraguard foam solution.
As part of its ongoing research and development activities, Chemguard is developing foam concentrates with improved fire protection – yet less fluorochemical surfactant – that are effective against intense fires and aggressive fuels.
One such product, Chemguard Ultraguard 3%x3% AR-AFFF foam concentrate, has scored quite high in LASTFIRE tests.
In LASTFIRE testing at Chemguard headquarters in Mansfield, Texas – which occurred in ambient temperatures often exceeding 100 F (38 C) – aspirated tests of 11 batches of Ultraguard 3%x3% averaged 99.8 points, semi-aspirated tests averaged 85.6 points, and system tests averaged 95.8 points - an overall average of 93.7 points for all 33 fires.
The photos show various steps of the LASTFIRE tests of Ultraguard at Chemguard’s Mansfield headquarters. Chemguard is a global, full-service, ISO 9001:2000 Certified manufacturer of fire suppression foams, equipment, and systems; specialty pumps; and fluorosurfactant specialty chemicals. y
