POSEIDON COMPRESSOR FROM BAUER
Bauer Compressors has introduced a new range of compressors to complement its Bauer Premium Line.
The Poseidon range aims for an “optimum price/performance ration” that combines high performance with minimum technical components and low service expenditure.
Capacities range from 200 l/m to 680 l/m and the Poseidon is only available in one version, with options being restricted to the required operation pressure (225 or 330 bar) and/or the filling connections.
The compressors KAP and V 320/500/680-F will also be incorporated into the Poseidon range in the future.
Wolf Safety
Sheffield light specialist Wolf Safety has launched a range of linkable ATEX Certified portable fluorescent luminaires, approved for use in Zone 1 (Cat 2) IIC T3/T4 Hazardous Areas, for heavy duty application in the most demanding of areas, such as the oil, gas & petrochemical industries and the utility markets.
Available with twin or quad 18W, 36W or 55W energy efficient fluorescent lamp combinations in a wide range of voltages (24V – 254V), producing impressive white light output, the luminaires can be instantly linked in series (plug and play), or side by side to provide temporary lighting solutions using ATEX plugs and sockets.
A unique feature of these fluorescent luminaires is that they are quick and easy to re-lamp using standard compact fluorescent lamps readily available from electrical retailers.
Certified to the latest standards and compliant with the ATEX Equipment Directives, including “end of life” protection circuit ballast for enhanced safety, the luminaires can be fixed in any orientation from mounting points compatible with Unistrut channel support systems and accessories.
BRISTOL KITS OUT QATARI DEFENCE
The Qatari Defence has placed an order for 800 sets of fire coats and trousers from UK company Bristol Uniforms.
The order followed a period of close collaboration between Bristol’s overseas sales team, local distributor Chubb Fire Qatar and the Qatari government. It included a personal visit last year by the Director of Resources for the Qatari Civil Defence, who came to Bristol to see first hand how the garments are made, and to discuss future PPE requirements of the Gulf State’s civil defence forces.
The garments selected are based on Bristol’s most recent lightweight design, the Ergotech Action, incorporating a Titan outer layer with a Gore-tex Airlock moisture barrier. This design has been chosen to ensure conformity with the latest European Standard EN469:2005.
BOMBEROS DE CHILE FIND LION
The managed care concept that consists of firefighters’ turnout gear being cleaned and repaired by a supplier, has been embraced by the Bomberos de Chile, who have recently taken delivery of their first shipment of new turnout gear.
Last year Bomberos de Chile awarded Lion Apparel with a three-year contract to supply its 6,000 firefighters with new personal protective equipment and Lion TotalCare services.
Bomberos de Chile will order 2,000 suits per year, as per the contract, in the unusual colour of black with lime-yellow reflective trim. The contract is being managed in Chile by Santiago-based distributor Codigo 33.
The original tender stipulated cleaning and repair services to be performed in Chile and supported by the PPE manufacturer. Lion has authorised Codigo 33 to provide cleaning and repair services as per those provided via Lion TotalCare.
“The Lion bunker gear met all of the technical features requested in the bid process,” remarked president of the Junta Nacional de Bomberos de Chile, Miguel Reyes Nunez. “Lion also possesses an ample market share of the world market and a solid brand name, as well as having a local representative in Chile, Codigo 33.”
