E2V TECHNOLOGIES LAUNCHES THE NEW ARGUS4 THERMAL IMAGING CAMERA.

e2v technologies has launched the Argus4 TIC. The Argus4 is smaller and lighter than its predecessor the Argus3, which was the first camera to offer image capture. Argus4 comes with x2 zoom, 13 colour settings and a picture capture facility. The Argus4 features include improved functionality and useability, and it enables the user to take100 photographs which can be stored and then downloaded to a PC/Laptop through a USB cable for quicker transfer.
Argus4 is now fully digital and provides further digital image enhancement. The TIC offers 13 colour schemes.
The new camera uses a Microbolometer sensor matched with electronics designed and manufactured by e2v. Additionally, the Argus4 boasts infrared remote control and PC software, allowing end users to configure the camera to their specific needs. Once a firefighter’s settings have been chosen, including the option of pre-setting colours, simple button operation allows the user to switch the camera on and off, take pictures and activate the digital zoom facility.
Direct-spot and ambient temperature measurement are also standard features on the Argus4, allowing for accurate assessment of site temperatures and identification of specific danger points.
The TIC’s casing is made from high quality Radel R-5100, chosen for its strength, resistance to heat, water and impact. The camera is sealed to IP67 to withstand driving spray and short-term immersion in water to a depth of one metre and can withstand a two metre drop test. The TIC tolerates high temperatures and comes with a removeable handle on the underside of the main unit as well as adjustable straps on either of the camera body to enable firefighters to choose their preferred handling method. There will also be a range of accessories which can be purchased including a removable truck mount and digital telemetry. The camera is RoHS compliant and conforms to the WEEE regulations.
